Application: How to
Prepare Quote
The words will come in rolls because of the length. Unwrap the words and let it set flat until it stops wanting to roll up again. The words have transfer tape (looks and feels like white masking tape) on the front side and backing paper (white and shiny) on the backside. Before arranging the words, burnish (rub) the surface of transfer tape to insure the quote is adhered to the transfer tape. (Letters may pull away from transfer tape during shipping).
Surface Preparation
Begin by making sure the surface to be used is clean and smooth. Use a tape measure or a ruler to determine the exact area where the words will be placed. We recommend drawing a light horizontal pencil guide line or use small pieces of masking tape to ensure the quote is straight. Words will not adhere to stucco, brick like surfaces, or some textured walls. The words may also not adhere to some wallpaper. Next, arrange the quote/words. The words can be cut apart and arranged in any manner (rows, angles, or around pictures). Lastly, tape the words lightly in place to help you plan your layout.
Application
After the words are securely taped in place, flip up the words and carefully peel the backing paper off. The letters need to remain on the transfer tape. If any letters are stuck to the backing, gently rub the letters so they stick back to the transfer tape. The words cannot be repositioned once in place, so be careful to line them up where you want them. Place the taped words on the pre-measured surface, using the lines to position the vinyl correctly onto the surface.
Burnishing
Using the wooden burnisher that comes with your letters, carefully press any air bubbles out from underneath the words. Burnish again and apply more pressure over the entire area.
Transfer Tape Removal
Carefully peel back the transfer tape. This will leave the words on your surface. If any letters stick to the transfer tape reburnish so the letters adhere to the surface. Now, once the transfer tape is off, you can enjoy the dynamic look of the inspiring words. For word removal you may peel the letters off with standard tweezers. Use a hair dryer to gently warm the letters for a speedier removal.
